"Higher Education 4 Ethiopia's Orphans" is a non-profit to help orphans go to College or University. We have raised 7 children of our own, we have 4 grandchildren. The Lord has broken our hearts for the children of "Hanna's Orphan Home" in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. We are partnering with HOEMinistries to better the lives of the poorest of Ethiopia.
Hello Cliff and Mary, we wrote a feature piece about Passion Africa on our website called Dream To The Last Day. Are you okay with mentioning your names in our article at the following link: http://www.dreamtothelastday.com/forum/topics/a-shared-passion-for-africa
No Singer wasn't very helpful at all in getting machines for us. We had to find them directly from stores in Malawi. One thing we have recently found out is that some of these machines we have been buying may be counterfeits shipped in from china. The guy that does maintenance on our machines has told us it might be better to buy old used machines that are actually Singers.
There are a couple other brands in Malawi. One is a Flying Dove and the other is a Senger. These are both quite a bit cheaper than the Singers.
Maybe sometime we can get together and talk about grants. We have learned quite a bit about them (that is not saying we are submitting good grants:) ). We just submitted one last week that took forever to do. Colorado has a new standardized grant form that is very detailed and takes forever to do.
Hi Mary,
I'm looking forward to this event. I'll still plan on bringing blank greeting cards and art supplies for the kids to decorate. Then, they can write to one of your kids! Do you want me to bring envelopes too, or will you be addressing them ahead of time? Let me know if I should bring anything else.
Here is the information about the 501 (c)(3) organization.
The non-profit organization is the Community Resource Center, www.crcamerica.org,
655 Broadway, Suite 300, Denver, CO 80203, 303-623-1540.
I wish I would have known about these guys when we were filling out our paper work.
Todd
