My daughter spent a year in Tanzania working with street boys. She met and married a native of Tanzania, Meru tribe. I am now related to half of Tanzania. I love my family!
Because we do love and respect all humans we could not ignore those we could help. We are fortunate to be in a position that we can help a few. Upendo Tanzania was formed for the purpose of helping as many as we can.
Jim, We are having an event at Everyday Joe's on Feb 6. 6:30-9:30. We are trying to get a west African dance group and drummers. - friends of my daughters. Also we are getting (and have) donations for free food and silent auction items. Think Humanity needs to raise money! BUT we are opening it up to other vendors. We only ask for a donation at the door for food, entertainment and a table. A $5 mosquito net per person is our goal-that's all. If you are interested in selling sandals please let me know. Help us get the word out Thanks, Beth
TH had a table at First Presby for goals 4-6 last month. It was very informative. It wasn't to sell anything but to get out awareness. Several churches were involved so this might be the continuation of that. Are you going?
Hi Jim, we wrote a feature piece about Passion Africa on our website called Dream To The Last Day. Are you okay with mentioning your name in our article at the following link: http://www.dreamtothelastday.com/forum/topics/a-shared-passion-for-africa
Hello jim....thank you for your comment.
To answer your question, yes I do have a project of my own.
I am the founder of Uzima Collective, which is a lesbian based non profit org. We are currently putting together a project called "because of who I am" where we will be targeting the governmental officials, and flooding them with mail and postcards in order to bring awareness to corrective rape on lesbians.
My outreach coodinator is Silent Drummer who will be traveling to ghana in august. The work that she has been doing is far beyond serpurb.
To bring some light to her, her business plans to bring books and rainwater harvest systems to remote urban areas in africa.
I am so very proud of her....
We are on a mission for equality and justice for everyone who is without it.
Thank you for your comment. Right now it's all about fund raising. The Lord has brought together so many diverse people to work on this vision of Michael Wangolo's of establishing a water well drilling operation in Uganda that can serve the greater Ugandan area, i.e. Kenya, Tanzania, etc.
My business partner and I have dedicated the next few years to shepherd this operation to reality and to build practices and policies that will help drill water wells across Africa for decades to come. Many supporters have wished us well and offered us their cooperation.
As I explained tonight at the Uganda Information group, all we lack is funds, and so the focus is on that. The equipment, the people, the place, the mission and the desire are all present and awaiting the last element that I am sure God will provide.

Thanks for letting me know!
Here is a big event for June. I talked to a vendor this winter that said this is the best show he went to last year.

It is the Pride Festival put on by the GLBT Community Center. I think the non profit rate is $125 but they say 250,000 attended last year.
How is your sandal supply looking?
I bought the PA banner last Monday to give to you and I forgot to give it to Jessica so I still have it.
