About Me:
Hello! I was in Ghana for six months last year living and working at an orphanage in the Volta Region - this made me realize how much need there was in the region and got me thinking about what I could do to help. While in Ghana, I met a teacher who was originally from Togo who has always had a dream to start an orphanage near his home village. Now I have begun raising support to get the (eventually self-sustaining) home started. I will be going over in April to purchase land and begin clearing it for construction.

Hey Jonathan!
How are you? Don't mean to overflow your wall here but I just wanted to personally let you know (before the mass email goes out) that the Africa Rural Connect site has OFFICIALLY Launched today! I'm really excited about it and hopefully I'll see you out there! www.AfricaRuralConnect.org

Thanks!

Thanks Jonathan! I hope you signed up for the contact list! We're really excited with the progress, if you know anyone who wants to get involved (farmers in Ghana for example, or anyone else) please let them know! We really want to give a voice to people who don't normally get heard so that they can incorporate their ideas into a working business plan.

Thanks again for the support and good luck with you're work!

Hi Jonathan,
Thanks for your great thoughts. Things are picking up, the website is up: www.liberiaeducationproject.org. We are raising support now to construct a 10 room school building and other facilities in the village. The website will give you more information on what is going on right now. Thanks for your project in Ghana, wish you all the best.

Hey there! I am doing great.... I am currently in Kenya and loving it. I'll be back in the states in July, and even in Colorado for a bit. Are you still in Fort Collins?

That 501 (c)(3) was a bear! It took us 15 months to get our final approval. Have you turned your application in yet?
Did you know that once you have applied you can start accepting donations?

Oh yes... it was the "form and content" poetry class... I liked it a lot. Did you get your MFA? That is another dream of mine... How did you get interested in Africa?

Hi Jonathan. Welcome to Passion Africa.
Do you know Jeremy and Kami Johnson from Ft Collins? About this time last year they started fundrasing for an orphanage in Liberia. They are in Liberia now building the orphanage.
I saw on your website you are applying for tax exempt status. Are you trying to become a 501 (c)(3)?

Yes I was!!! I graduated from CSU in 2007, and I am finishing up my Masters in Public Health at K-State right now... how are you? Did you like Cooperman's class? I think I took like 4 classes from Cooperman... which one were we in together? What are you doing now? It sounds like you have been doing some amazing work in Ghana. I was in Zambia working with a nutrition project for HIV patients last summer.
