About Me:
I have worked in Nigeria for almost 3 years and serve on the board of a faith based Aids Clinic called Faith Alive in Jos Nigeria. We recieve funding from many sources and last year we compled a 16,000 sq.ft. clinic. Our patients recieve free services , we have 3500 HIV positive patients recieving ARVS with another 10,000 on a waiting list for treatment. Our patient load varies depending on what hospitals are on strike, in Jos, last July we saw 17,000 patients. We are a christian NGO that serves muslim, christians and anyone else who needs care. Dr. Christian Isichei and his wife Dr. Mercy Isichei started the clinic almost 10 years ago and for the first 5 years only had prayers and vitamins to give the HIV patients they lost many. Dr. Isichei trained at the Mayo clinic with the latest of technology then returned to serve his fellow Nigerians in a country that spends $4 USD per year, per person, to provide health care.
We are currently working with Dr.Art Ammann and Global Stratiges for the Prevention of HIV , to provide a peanut butter fortified vitiamin rich food source , for clinics in Liberia, Nigeria, Uganda and Congo. We will be building a innovative building on the lawn of First Presbyterian Church in Ft. Collins to demonstrate the process, then take it apart and ship it to Africa to be used as a feeding center.
I have been blessed beyond my wildest dreams and feel honored to work along side my family from Africa to fufill Gods will.

Hi Russ,

I was going to check in with you and see if we could have our PA meeting that is this Saturday in your office? We are going to work on a possible community event this summer and a nice quiet place like your office might work well to discuss things.

Hi Russ-
I must have left yo a message on your son's page. Quick update- we cannot use the furniture in the entry way to display the auction items so we will need more tables. Do you have any? I only have a card table.
Also, we can close off the glass door.

Russ, No we have not served as missionaries for years. Last year was my first time to Ethiopia. But it has changed our lives. God has great things to do and wonderful people to do HIS work through. We are so blessed to have been guided to Passion Africa for support and Ideas in our work in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. May God Continue to Bless African Aid Ministries. Mary

Hi Russ-
Thanks for the advice. I really appreciate your thoughts. My husband and I were actually just talking about this but we have 3 young children and to pick up and go to Africa (the expenses to get there and the leave of absence from work) just isn't feasible...as much as I dream about it. For the next few years, I need to focus my energy from here. An hour a day is a great thought. Thanks and God bless all of your work.

Brochure
Printing costs for the brochure in color will be about $0.25 a piece. We were talking about printing 500. This is $125. With 9 groups featured in the brochure that is $13.88 a piece. We need to know if all groups are willing to pay that much for these brochures. Please let us know by the end of the day Monday by replying to the Passion Africa Brochure Discussion (click here).

Passion Africa Booth at Step into Africa
Please go to the Passion Africa Booth discussion (click here) and sign up for a time to volunteer to run the Passion Africa booth.

Passion Africa Calendar
We are putting together a Passion Africa Calendar. Please go to that discussion (click here) to see more details on where to send information and pictures about your group.

Hi Russ,
I just got off the phone with Mary Zenzen and she told me about the Documentary you are trying to show at S.I.A. My question is how did you get the rights for this?
I am trying to get a documentary to show and wasn't sure how to go about it.
Let me know if you are able to secure a spot and need volunteers to help. We have a list of about 40 CSU students that may be interested in helping out.
Will you be at the meeting Friday?

Thanks Russ. This sounds good. Let me know what I need to do to move forward with this.

The meeting went well last night. We are going to have another one next Friday night at Jim and Pat's. We had some time sensitive things we thought we should take care of. I will email you about them in the next day or so.
