About Me:: I have worked in Nigeria for almost 3 years and serve on the board of a faith based Aids Clinic called Faith Alive in Jos Nigeria. We recieve funding from many sources and last year we compled a 16,000 sq.ft. clinic.Our patients recieve free services , we have 3500 HIV positive patients recieving ARVS with another 10,000 on a waiting list for treatment. Our patient load varies depending on what hospitals are on strike, in Jos, last July we saw 17,000 patients. We are a christian NGO that serves muslim, christians and anyone else who needs care. Dr. Christian Isichei and his wife Dr. Mercy Isichei started the clinic almost 10 years ago and for the first 5 years only had prayers and vitamins to give the HIV patients they lost many. Dr. Isichei trained at the Mayo clinic with the latest of technology then returned to serve his fellow Nigerians in a country that spends $4 USD per year, per person, to provide health care.
We are currently working with Dr.Art Ammann and Global Stratiges for the Prevention of HIV , to provide a peanut butter fortified vitiamin rich food source , for clinics in Liberia, Nigeria, Uganda and Congo. We will be building a innovative building on the lawn of First Presbyterian Church in Ft. Collins to demonstrate the process, then take it apart and ship it to Africa to be used as a feeding center.
I have been blessed beyond my wildest dreams and feel honored to work along side my family from Africa to fufill Gods will.
